Sonus faber have released the second generation of their popular Sonetto range and the Munich High End audio show during May 2024.
The original Sonetto range has been a firm favourite at Soundline for some time now, so we're very excited to see and hear the improvements the second generation will bring. Sonetto G2 inherits some of the acoustic technologies specifically designed for the Suprema system, the elite flagship of the Sonus faber catalog.
Sonetto V and Sonetto VIII feature an innovative cork chamber which enhances the midrange resolution and allows for a seamless flow of sound waves, and precise control over sound propagation and resonance.
The Camelia midrange drivers of Sonetto V, Sonetto VIII and Sonetto Center add a touch of elegance as well as smooth frequency response and clarity.
High quality wood is used in the cabinet construction and performance has been further enhanced with a new concrete base, provising superior stability and better vibration management. The iconic lute shape is retained throughout the range, which optimises sound dispersion and creates an immersive listening experience.
Sonetto I G2
The Sonus faber Sonetto I is the smallest speaker in the G2 range. Perfect as either a bookshelf or standmounted speaker, and ideal for rooms where floorstanding speakers are too dominant, or as rear speakers in a Sonus Faber theatre arrangement.
Thanks to the most advanced design solutions and particularly to the new front reflex duct implemented on the speaker base in a unique way, Sonetto I is an outstanding performer and compact bookshelf, ideal for middle sized listening rooms.
Sonetto II G2
The Sonus faber Sonetto II is the larger of the two bookshelf speakers in the G2 range. Perfect as either a bookshelf or standmounted speaker, and ideal for rooms where floorstanding speakers are too dominant, or as rear speakers in a Sonus Faber theatre arrangement.
Sonetto III G2
Elevating its design from a traditional three-way system, the Sonetto III has been transformed into a 2.5-way configuration. This design emphasizes enhanced bass performance, utilizing two 6.5-inch woofers—one dedicated to bass and the other handling both bass and mid-range frequencies, ensuring a rich and balanced audio output.
Sonetto V G2
The Sonetto V maintains its role as a versatile floor-standing model, now fine-tuned to offer an even more engaging listening experience. Its three-way design continues to provide a broad soundstage, but with improved driver materials and crossover designs that bring a more coherent and immersive sound.
Sonetto VIII G2
Previously featuring three 6.5-inch woofers, the Sonetto VIII has been upgraded to include two 8-inch woofers, enhancing its bass capabilities dramatically. This adjustment mirrors the power and depth found in the esteemed Amati model, making it ideal for those seeking a profound auditory impact in larger spaces.
