This DV 20X2A has 2 types for you to choose from according to your system.

The 20X2A-L (low output model) has the output as a regular MC cartridge while the 20X2A-H (high output model) is an MC cartridge that suitable for the most MM input.

This cartridge is ideal for not only those who want to fully enjoy the sound from an MC cartridge, but also those who would like to easily experience the charms of an MC cartridge without the need to use an MC step up transformer.

High output/low output

The high output model 20X2A-H achieves an output voltage of 2.8mV by using Dynavectors legendary coil winding technology. By winding the coil many times with ultra-fine wire, the cartridge can obtain a high output equivalent to an MM cartridge. Thus allowing the MC cartridge to be connected to PHONO terminal for MM input without the need for a head amplifier or step-up transformer.
The low output model 20X2A-L has a 0.3mV output voltage, using the same PCOCC wires as the higher-end models for the coil. The recommended load impedance of the head amplifier is 30Ω or more, making it compatible with most head amplifiers and MC step-up transformers.

Free Turntable setup

We carefully set up every turntable and cartridge we sell. So if you're new to turntables or have decades of experience, you know you'll be getting the most enjoyment from your system. You can be safe in the knowledge that you can take your turntable home, plug it straight in and start enjoying good music without any worry of something being setup incorrectly.

Who is this for?

Who is this for?

The DV 20X2A is designed for the serious vinyl enthusiast who has moved beyond entry-level equipment and is ready to experience what a truly refined moving coil cartridge can deliver. If you've invested in a quality turntable with a properly configured tonearm—something in the VPI, Pro-Ject, or Rega range with effective mass between 9 and 14 grams—and you're hearing the limitations of your current cartridge, this Dynavector will reveal layers of detail and musicality you didn't know were hiding in your records.

This cartridge shines in medium to large listening rooms where you have the space to let music breathe, paired with amplification that can do justice to its capabilities. You'll want a phono stage with at least 60dB of gain for the high-output version or a proper MC stage for the low-output model, feeding into an integrated amplifier or separates system outputting 40 watts or more. The 20X2A doesn't demand exotic electronics, but it will certainly reward thoughtful matching with speakers that offer resolution and transparency.

You're likely someone who listens actively rather than casually, who appreciates the difference between compressed digital convenience and the analog experience, and who's willing to spend time with proper setup and cartridge alignment. Whether you're exploring the nuances of classic jazz pressings, rediscovering rock albums you thought you knew, or diving deep into classical repertoire, the DV 20X2A delivers the kind of engaging, musical performance that keeps you up for "just one more side."
